The Edwards Association is guided by a dedicated team of leaders who serve with integrity, commitment, and a deep love for preserving the Edwards legacy. Each officer brings years of experience, community service, and personal connection to the history we protect. Together, they ensure that our mission—honoring our past, strengthening our present, and uplifting future generations—remains at the heart of everything we do.

President
David B. Tucy
David B. Tucy has served as President since 2016. He attended Edwards and Riverside Schools from 1958–1965, followed by Gonzales Junior and Senior High Schools from 1966–1970. He is a devoted member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully serves as a Deacon.

Vice President
Quincy Johnson
Quincy Johnson has served as Vice President since 2022. He is a proud graduate of Gonzales High School, Class of 1982, and a devoted member of Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, where he serves as Superintendent of Deacons and Adult Sunday School Teacher

Secretary
Tena Roaches
Mrs. Tena Smith - Roaches has served as Secretary of the Edwards Association since 2020 and has chaired the MLK Celebration Committee since 2015. A dedicated member since 2005, she is active at Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church as a musician, Youth Director, and Pastor’s Wife.
She is married to Rev. C.A. Roaches and is the proud mother of two children and one grandchild. A graduate of E.E. Worthing High School, she continued her studies at Texas Southern University, Texas State University, and San Antonio College, earning a degree in Education.
Mrs. Roaches worked 25 years with Gonzales Head Start and has served as a Permanent Substitute for GISD since 2017.

Treasurer
JoAnn Lewis
Joann Lewis has served as Treasurer since 2017 and has been a dedicated member of the Edwards Association since 2012. She is a proud graduate of Edwards and Riverside Schools, Class of 1964, and a faithful member of the Holy Temple of Jesus Christ #2, where she serves as Pastor.

Historian
Ella Harris
Ella Harris has served as an Edwards Alumni member since 2006. She is a proud graduate of Riverside and Edwards High School and a faithful member of Union Lee Baptist Church, where she serves as Church Secretary.

Robert Shelton
Graduate of Seguin High School, Class of 1998. A dedicated Edwards Association member for 3 years. Proud member of Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
