January-February

We honor influential figures throughout history and celebrate key cultural milestones. Each year, we host an MLK Day Peace Walk and a special program during Black History Month to recognize the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and highlight the achievements and contributions of Black Americans.

April -May

We host annual Easter Egg Hunts that bring families and children together for a day of fun and community fellowship. We also partnered with COPE in support of Austin Awareness Month, joining efforts to promote education, unity, and community well‑being. In addition, we hosted a successful Fish Fry Fundraiser, with proceeds supporting our ongoing programs and community initiatives.

June

We host an annual Juneteenth Celebration that brings together alumni, families, and the Gonzales community to honor history, culture, and unity. This event highlights our commitment to preserving heritage while fostering connection and engagement across generations.

July - August

We proudly served as a host for the National Bikers Round‑Up, an event that brings riders and communities together from across the country. During this celebration, awards were presented to recognize outstanding community involvement and service.

The Edwards Association partnered with local churches and community organizations to distribute backpacks filled with school supplies to students in need. Through ongoing fundraising efforts, we also provide college scholarships to support and encourage the next generation of leaders.

September

 We host National Night Out, an event that brings residents together with local police, fire, and EMS to strengthen community relationships and build meaningful partnerships.

October

We are proud participants in Come and Take It, and throughout the year we provide a variety of free children’s activities for our community. During Halloween, we also take part in the Edwards Association Fall Family Fun Fest, where we offer complimentary games and candy for families to enjoy.

November

The Edwards Association was honored to host the Family Fun Fest at the Edwards Community Center. We sincerely appreciate everyone who contributed to the success of this event—those who helped plan, volunteered their time, or generously donated. Your dedication and support are truly valued. God bless you all.

Decmeber 

We host an Annual Christmas Event featuring toy giveaways, family activities, and refreshments for all attendees. Children also have the opportunity to take photos with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. In December 2025, we proudly distributed 100 bicycles and welcomed our largest turnout to date, with more than 200 community members joining us in support.

Additionally, we strive to preserve and share the history and significance of the Edwards High School experience, ensuring that its legacy is recognized and remembered.
